Our Approach to Assessment

Assessment is not a one-off event—it’s a continuous process embedded in everyday teaching. It enables our staff to build securely on prior learning and ensure that every child is equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the next stage of their education.

We’ve developed a bespoke assessment tracking system, underpinned by clearly defined milestones. These milestones are based on National Curriculum statements and outline the knowledge, skills, and concepts pupils should master by the end of each academic year. Together, they provide a clear picture of what working at age-related expectations looks like.

Our annual capital programme is guided by comprehensive condition surveys, allowing us to prioritise investment where it’s needed most.

At Enquire Learning Trust, we believe that nutritious, high-quality food is essential to a child’s wellbeing and learning. That’s why our school meals are proudly delivered by our in-house catering team, using fresh ingredients sourced from a trusted network of local suppliers.

We prioritise:

• Red Tractor-certified meat
• Locally grown vegetables and dairy
• Sustainably sourced fish

Great Food at Great Value

We’re proud to have held our school meal price at £2.25 for the past five years—delivering healthy, balanced meals that are both affordable and delicious.

Growing Our Own Future

In one of our most exciting initiatives yet, we’ve launched a project to install polytunnels across our academies. Our ambitious goal? To grow 5% of all food served in our kitchens by 2028.

This project builds on the success of bringing our catering in-house and reflects our commitment to sustainability, food education, and environmental responsibility.
