This prestigious role recognises Oakdene’s exceptional early years expertise and their commitment to giving every child the very best start to school. As a Reception Network Hub, Oakdene will play a leading part in strengthening Reception practice across the region and nationally.
In this role, Oakdene Academy will:
Champion high‑quality early years provision
Sharing strong, evidence-informed Reception practice and reinforcing the message that early learning truly matters.
Lead half-termly virtual network meetings
Bringing schools together to explore national themes, discuss effective pedagogy, and collaborate on shared challenges.
Host termly school visits
Providing schools with opportunities to observe high-quality Reception environments, routines and interactions in action—helping translate ideas into impactful practice.
Build collaborative networks across local authorities
Connecting schools and partners, fostering peer support, and strengthening relationships across the early years ecosystem.
Curate and share a bank of Reception resources
Developing accessible tools and exemplification materials hosted on the school website for schools across the area.
Support schools to reflect and improve
Helping practitioners understand their strengths and plan meaningful changes that enhance outcomes for children.
Work alongside national partners
Signposting schools to DfE programmes such as Maths Hubs, English Hubs and Stronger Practice Hubs to ensure specialist support reaches those who need it.
This is a fantastic achievement for the Oakdene team and a testament to their passion, expertise and relentless drive to secure the best possible early education for all children.
