Led by: Joe Kemp

Audience: Y3 & Y4 Teachers

Venue: ELT Office, 18 Appleton Court, Wakefield, WF2 7AR

This session is designed to strengthen the teaching and assessment of mathematics in Years 3 and 4. Through focused discussion and collaborative activities, staff will examine the National Curriculum and contribute to designing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that have the greatest impact on pupil progress, evaluate curriculum weighting, and agree on essential objectives for achieving the expected standard. The session will draw on a range of evidence to inform decisions and ensure alignment with Trust and national expectations.

Teachers will also gain clarity in what the expected standard looks like in Years 3 and 4 through engaging in book moderation with colleagues from other schools. This will then be used to develop exemplification materials for use across the Trust.

By the end of the day, teachers will leave with practical tools, shared exemplification, and clear next steps to implement in their classrooms to help raise attainment in KS2.

Teachers need to bring an iPad (and a laptop if they can't access Bromcom on their iPad) plus three Maths books, with work from September to now (1x WTS, 1x EXS and 1x SEND).
